Chicken Biryani


Ingredients:

- 1 cup basmati rice

- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs

- 2 medium onions, chopped

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 medium ginger, grated

- 1 tsp cumin seeds

- 1 tsp coriander seeds

- 1 tsp fennel seeds

- 1 tsp turmeric powder

- 1 tsp red chili powder

- 1 tsp garam masala powder

- 1 tsp pink salt (preferred)

- 2 tbsp lemon juice

- 2 tbsp ghee or oil

- 2 cups water

- Chopped cilantro, for garnish 


Instructions:

1. Rinse rice and soak for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.


2. In a large pot, heat ghee or oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, and fennel seeds. Let them sizzle for a few seconds.

3. Add onions, garlic, and ginger. Cook until onions are translucent.
